Final Blog

I received a lot of notes in my recent playtesting. I was still missing a lot of scripts and assets which really took away from the overall gameplay and was commented on by my testers. However, I have added a lot more functionality. I finally have the scripts and animations done for the lifts, the gate, and the end goal (which is now a helicopter). I also have added assets for all three of these. I finished applying a texture to the terrain area which really helps tie it together. The majority of my testers said the terrain area should have trees added, which is not something I initially intended to add, but the terrain is now lush with trees. I have finally replaced the capsules with actual key assets and the health and ammo pickups have been replaced with appropriate assets. I added a skybox which tints the game with a nice red glow that I think compliments the theme of the game very nicely. I have added UI elements that tell the player the control upon starting the game, but deactivates them once the trigger is left. I also have triggers that will tell the player when they approach the lift or the gate without having found the necessary keys. The main things I am still working on are the zombies, their spawners, the shooting mechanics, and the player being damaged and spending ammo, as well as the health and ammo being reflect in the GUI. I plan to have these completed soon, however. Once all of this functionality is finished, I will touch up in areas that I think wold benefit from more detail, and I will also be adding sounds.
